Day 14

Well today we were looking forward to our next destination, last night in the hotels bar we brought our laptop down and started to look for suitable hotels in Phoenix for us to stay in for a couple of days. We came across The Boulders Resort & Golden Door Spa which is a fantastic resort just North of Phoenix in a place called Carefree. It was only going to take us 2 hours today so we left in time to get us there for midday which we achieved. We were very pleased with what we was presented with. At the entrance the gatehouse guy had a printed form to display in our car with our details on it, then we drove a mile to the reception where we checked in and left the car with a porter who took our bags out and loaded them into a golf cart and took us to our detached room, which is lovely. After we settled in we walked to the reception area again, to have some lunch and then sat by one of the many pools, we was very pleased to see it wasn’t that busy despite being nearly full. The time round the pool was great and this took us to about 6:00 pm when we walked back to the room to get ready for a meal tonight. There is a championship 27 hole golf-course here which looks really well prepared despite being in the desert. We may play a game tomorrow, this depends on wether I want to break my time off from golf, I guess time will tell.
